Our Values and Guiding Principles

Our Commitment
In every circle we cast, we pledge ourselves to peace and love, heart to heart and hand in hand. During the four days of The WEAVING, that commitment extends to everyone who joins us, regardless of where you come from, which language you speak, whom you love, or how you choose to live your life.

The WEAVING is a democratic, anti-fascist, inclusive, and queer-friendly gathering.

As Germans, we are inviting you to Germany. We are fully aware of the historical and cultural baggage that can sometimes surround German Paganism, as well as the nationalist and exclusionary movements that exist within parts of the Pagan community. We stand firmly apart from those ideologies.

Our connection to the land is rooted in love, responsibility, and belonging, not in ownership. To love the earth beneath our feet does not mean to claim it, nor does it belong to any one people, nation, or culture. We believe that all human beings are equal in dignity and worth. Anyone who promotes hierarchies between people, cultures, ethnicities, or spiritual traditions will find that this is not the right place for them.

Awareness, Respect and Consent
An Awareness Team will be available throughout the gathering. You can approach them at any time if your personal boundaries are crossed, if you experience discrimination or harassment, or if you witness someone else being harmed.

For us, awareness means looking after one another and respecting each other’s boundaries.
Whether a touch, a photograph, a joke, a conversation, or an invitation is welcome can only be decided by the person receiving it. Please ask before hugging, touching, or photographing someone, and accept a “no” gracefully and without argument.

Learning Together
We also recognize that none of us are perfect. Mistakes will happen, even with the best intentions. What matters is how we respond to them. Our Code of Conduct and Terms & Conditions explain the standards we strive to uphold and the ways we intend to address conflicts, concerns, and misunderstandings should they arise.

Honouring the Place
Our commitment to peace and respect also extends to the land itself. We are guests in the forests near Herbstein, close to a protected conservation area, sharing this place with its wildlife, ancient trees, and, for many of us, the unseen spirits of the land.

We aim to care for everything that lives there and to leave the site in better condition than we found it. Let us tread lightly, act responsibly, and honour the generosity of the place that hosts us.

A Warm Welcome
We are deeply grateful to everyone who will travel from near and far to join us in this celebration of peace, friendship, and community. Together, we will weave something greater than ourselves.
